False Cape State Park

Featuring six miles of beaches on the Gulf of ocean habitats-to-freshwater, it also includes sand dunes, forests, agricultural fields, marshes, maritime forests and salt marshes are wooded. Extensive wildlife offers more than 300 species of nesting and migratory shorebirds and ducks, singers (including the snow goose population back 10,000), Beaver, White-tailed Deer, Red Fox, loggerhead turtle, American bald eagles, wild boar, wild horses, and some interesting reptiles.

From April to October, visitors can travel to the heart of a tram and explore on foot from there. Other times of the year, the Park is accessible by boat or on foot through the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

Back Bay Wildlife Refuge

9.108 acre-acre refuge consists of a barrier island, coastal dunes, forests, marshes, Maritime forests, ponds and ocean beaches. This protection is located in thin strips of a typical barrier island beaches are found along the Atlantic coast and the Gulf. Most of the refuge is built on islands contained within the waters of Back Bay. The refuge provides habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, including endangered species such as the loggerhead turtle and critical piping plovers, peregrine falcons, and Bald Eagle Crater. The site is the contact station, a line of visitors, and, with advance scheduling, group educational opportunities.

First Landing State Park

The Virginia company, which went to settle Jamestown, made the first landing in the new world on 16 April 1607, this State Park is now fine, 2.888 preserved acres that run between the river and Lynnhaven Bay Chesapeake for just 2 blocks from the beach. Rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons among many species in this urban Park, which features 19 miles of hiking trails.

The main entrance is on Shore Drive (US 60), in which the information center is open every day from 9 am-5 pm. parks and trails are open daily 8 a.m. to sunset. Entry 64th Street, off Atlantic Avenue, leading to a calm-water Beach in Broad Bay. Admission to the Park during the summer is $3 per vehicle on weekdays, $4 at the weekend. Bicycles are banned except on gravel, 6 miles of Cape Henry line, which runs between the door of the 64th Street and the center of the trail.

Virginia Beach is home to 264 Garden and parking facilities, covering more than 4,000 acres including the environment and society, Metro Park, signature parks, natural areas, access the waterways, traces the relationship, open space preservation area, and Garden Athletics Facilities.
