Venezuela Los Caobos Park – The Caobos Park is one of those places that has very nice Caracas and is not as crowded. It is located across the geographic center of the city, between Plaza Venezuela and cultural center formed by the Teresa Carreno Theater, Ateneo and the Museum of Fine Arts and Natural Sciences. To get there you can quickly go from the metro stations of Fine Arts and College of Engineers or a little walking from the station to Plaza Venezuela. By car you can park in the College of Engineering.
This park is a lot of old trees that shade almost the entire area. That makes it a very cool place to walk or exercise.
Initially built to adorn the vial from Plaza Venezuela in 1952, through a contest among the most prestigious artists in the country, which won the sculptor Ernest Maragall, the work was given the name of “Source Venezuela”. Radially it consists of five giant statues with their pedestals, symbol of the geographical regions of Venezuela: Avila, Los Andes, Los Llanos, Orinoco and the Caribbean. There are three circular rings forming a pond and a central flower. By a road renovation of the area, the fountain was moved to Park Caobos the October 12, 1967, the date of which remains in the same place.
He Avila, represented by a woman with gentle sweetness and majesty remembers the midwife capital, symbolizes the Cerro El Avila and is sitting. With his left hand caressing a toucan and the right hand holds a branch plant symbolizing fertility of the valley of Caracas. It was the first of the sculptures completed by the sculptor.
The Caribbean has the shape of a woman (Margariteña). He holds in his hands the crineja resting on his back, forming foam that overflows on the wave of the wave before it reaches the coast. In his right hand under his leg raised, there is a sense of return water to the sea. The sculpture symbolizes the Caribbean Sea and through her figure refers to his movements.
