The biggest eyesore on the North Coast will be developed into a community health center $50 million in Brookvale.
Premier Mike Baird took the Manly daily on a tour of the empty blocks across the Warringah Mall, sharing a vision of a four-storey health employs 200 staff.
“There is no doubt this is the worst eyesore in the North Coast and this is a moment of pride to be able to turn it into a world-class facility to meet our world class staff,” said Mr. Baird.
“(In) 23 years old, I don’t remember it being anything other than a site overlooked.”
Site m 5000sq, at the corner of Pittwater Rd and William St, purchased by the State Government last month, to finish in December, with work scheduled to begin in 2015.
Called Southern Community Health Centre, it will include the disease services for mental health, rehabilitation, and a breast exam.
“You can’t find a site that better-connected transport and accessibility,” said Mr. Baird.
Project Manager of the reconstruction of the Northern Beaches of Anthony Manning said when completed, the site will play a key role in health care, with community centers in Mona Vale and Dalwood, in support of the new North Shore hospital in Frenchs Forest.
